Job Description Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline maintenance across Databricks using Python and SQL
- Lead the redesign of the compensation calculation model within Oracle Incentive Compensation Management (ICM), including data modeling, rule logic translation, and migration to the medallion architecture
- Build and maintain Bronze/Silver/Gold layer pipelines that source from SQL Server, Oracle ICM, and other enterprise systems
- Design and manage Delta Lake tables, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance across compensation and HR-adjacent datasets
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Compensation teams to translate business rules into reliable, auditable data pipelines
- Integrate data from Workday and payroll systems where relevant to compensation reporting and reconciliation
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and implement fixes with an emphasis on accuracy given the sensitivity of compensation data
- Document data lineage and transformation logic clearly, given the compliance and audit requirements of compensation systems
- Partner with analysts and platform engineers to ensure downstream reporting and dashboards reflect accurate, timely data
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of data engineering experience, with expert-level proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake and medallion architecture patterns
- Solid proficiency in Python and SQL for pipeline development
- Experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault, or similar)
- Ability to work with complex, rules-based business logic (e.g., compensation calculations, incentive structures) and translate it into technical data models
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive, high-scrutiny data domains
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) or similar incentive/compensation platforms
- Familiarity with Varicent or other sales performance management (SPM) tools
- Experience integrating with Workday, payroll systems, or other HRIS platforms
- Exposure to Varicent OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) or Azure-native integration services (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure API Management)
- Familiarity with applying LLMs to data engineering workflows (e.g., code generation, documentation, data mapping/reconciliation assistance)
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range: $113,342.00 - 155,845.80Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
