ROLE SUMMARY
Global Business Services (GBS) is Pfizer’s global engine for shared business services — Procurement, Financial Services, Global HR Services, Transformation and Project Management.
Roughly 2,000 colleagues deliver these capabilities in service of Pfizer’s purpose: Breakthroughs that Change Patients’ Lives.
The Global Colleague Services Lead sets the strategic direction and oversees operational execution for Human Resources Services for the Pfizer enterprise and oversees the design, optimization and operations of the following processes and supporting functions as applicable:
- HR administration (‘Hire to Retire’ process administration) inclusive of Payroll operations
- HR Business Process Design, including regional and local process design and maintenance
- Execute Global Payroll in support of Pfizer Colleagues
- Accountable for compliance, controls and audits, ensuring that Global Controls and SOPs are followed, and regional / country work instructions are maintained, updated as needed and followed
- User Experience/Change Management
- HR Information Systems management including Workday, and local Payroll systems,
- Lead regular benchmarking and external / regulatory monitoring to ensure best-in-class performance and compliance
- Colleague Support (Help Desk) and Issue Resolution
As a member of the GBS Leadership Team, the Global Colleague Services Lead ensures business objectives are met and Pfizer’s HR Services are best in class.
This leader drives innovation across the GBS value proposition while sustaining a high-performance culture for ~300 colleagues globally plus an outsourced relationship.
This role requires close collaboration with the GBS Leadership Team, the People Experience Leadership Team, BU Finance Leaders, IBM, ADP, and other senior F&GBS leaders to ensure compliant operations and value-driving business strategies.
Colleague Services remains largely intact under the GBS move to a five-tower operating model, with select activities transitioning to the new Platform & Enablement Services tower.
Today's GBS market bar: The bar has moved from ticket volume to colleague experience — resolution at first contact, deflection, and colleague effort now matter more than throughput. This leader governs a major outsourced payroll partner while owning the colleague outcome end to end, treats payroll accuracy as a trust event rather than a service metric, and has run a Workday-scale HR technology change with an honest account of adoption.
