Chief Strategy Officer

Right Seat is recruiting a Chief Strategy Officer on behalf of a national public-sector institution operating within a specialized science, technology and innovation environment.

The Chief Strategy Officer will provide strategic leadership to translate national priorities and sector ambitions into an actionable, measurable and sustainable institutional strategy. The successful candidate will advise the CEO and Senior Management while leading strategy execution, performance management, institutional impact measurement, strategic research, international cooperation and resource mobilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review and execution of the institution's corporate strategy.
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable plans, programmes, KPIs and institutional targets.
• Lead performance management, monitoring, evaluation and organizational learning.
• Provide evidence-based strategic advice to the CEO and Senior Management.
• Monitor global, regional and national developments relevant to the institution's mandate.
• Guide international cooperation and strategic partnerships.
• Support the mobilization of financial and technical resources.
• Ensure alignment between institutional priorities, programmes, investments and budgets.
• Promote a shared understanding of the institution's strategy across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• A master's degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, Science, Technology, Telecommunications, Geospatial Studies or a related field.
• A PhD or relevant professional qualification would be an added advantage.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
• Significant experience in strategy, policy, institutional planning, international cooperation, business development or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organization-wide strategies.
• Strong understanding of performance management, monitoring and institutional impact.
• Experience engaging senior government officials, Boards, development partners, international organizations and private-sector stakeholders would be an advantage.
• Experience within a specialized science, technology, infrastructure, telecommunications, geospatial or innovation-driven environment is highly desirable.
