Program Description

Longroad Energy’s internship program provides opportunities for undergraduate students to explore careers in renewable energy. In 2027, Longroad will offer paid internship positions that create challenging hands-on learning experiences for college juniors, entering their senior year in the Fall. Selected interns will participate in a 10–12-week summer program that includes onboarding, structured work experience, mentoring, and exposure both to department-specific and company-wide personnel and activities.

Job Purpose:

The Legal Intern will work directly with attorneys, paralegals and other team members in Longroad’s legal department and gain exposure to a variety of legal disciplines and functions, including operations, corporate governance, and real estate. The Legal Intern may also have the opportunity to work with intern(s) on other teams. This role is based out of our Boston office coming in 2-3 times a week.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Assist with and support matters falling under the following categories: real estate, permitting & local affairs, commercial, corporate and regulatory matters, alongside and under supervision by Longroad attorneys and other team members.
• Assist in the review and drafting of corporate governance documents for consistency and compliance.
• Assist with implementation of company internal policies and procedures.
• Review and draft basic contracts.
• Developing and/or updating systems for tracking matters that the legal department manages (e.g., corporate matters, NDAs, UCCs, etc.).
• Potentially visit operating wind and solar projects (funding will be provided for travel).

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate student at a 4-year college or rising 2L law student pursuing a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
• Preferred major of Political Science, Pre-Law, Economics, Environmental Studies or other related majors.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher for college students or top 25% of class for law students
• Interest in Renewable Energy Industry and transactional legal work
• Curiosity
• Self-starter
• Strong written and organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Microsoft Office suite proficiency
• Cover letter highly preferred
• Ability to synthesize and organize large amounts of data
• A proactive style and ability to organize time well and set proper priorities both as instructed and self-imposed

Compensation

This role pays $25 hour.
