ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Procurement Manager to build and own procurement at Retell as we scale.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who is commercially sharp, analytical, and comfortable building things from scratch. You’ll own vendor selection, sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing vendor management across the company.

You’ll work closely with Finance, Legal, Engineering, IT, HR, and leadership to make sure we’re getting the best value from every major vendor and building a procurement function that can scale with the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own procurement across the company, from sourcing through contracting and renewals

• Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiation

• Manage strategic software, infrastructure, and other company spend

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and vendor consolidation

• Build procurement processes, policies, and approval workflows from scratch

• Partner with Finance and Legal on contracts, budgets, and vendor risk

• Track company spend and improve visibility into vendor costs

• Build strong relationships with key vendors and negotiate favorable terms

• Use automation and AI to make procurement faster and more efficient

• Help build the procurement function as Retell continues to scale.

YOU MIGHT THRIVE IF YOU

• Have 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or purchasing

• Have strong vendor negotiation and contract negotiation experience

• Have owned meaningful company spend

• Have experience at a fast-growing technology company or startup

• Have experience with SaaS, software, or technical procurement

• Are highly analytical and comfortable working with spend data

• Can operate independently without much existing structure

• Have built procurement processes or functions from scratch

• Move quickly and avoid unnecessary bureaucracy

• Are a strong communicator and can work across Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, Engineering, IT, and HR

 

JOB DETAILS

Cash: _ $165,000 - $205,000 _

Equity: _ 4-year vest / 1-year cliff _

Location: Redwood City, California (Relocation support provided)

US Visas: Retell AI is open to sponsoring work authorization for qualified candidates, including H-1B, TN, L-1, E-3, and F-1 (OPT/CPT).

• Best offer upfront: Choose from three cash-equity balance options; no negotiation needed

• Performance-based: Offers tied to interview performance, not tenure or past salary
