Job Description Summary

The Gas Power Technical Compliance organization (GPTC) provides technical guidance, leadership, and tactical directions to ensure conformity of projects in line with customer specifications, applicable codes & standards, and local regulations in Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, HRSG, BOP, and Accessories.

GPTC provides coverage in expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), Inquiry to Order (ITO), Order to Remittance (OTR).

GPTC is seeking a Senior Engineer for driving compliance with TRS requirements for Heavy Duty & Aero Derivative Gas Power complex projects execution in Asia region, with special focus on South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Australia. The engineer will effectively collaborate internally with several functions within Gas Power & externally with customers, authorities, and authorized agencies in a multi-cultural & multi-functional environment to ensure technical compliance of products & service offered.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in defining, implementing, and improving relevant processes and to streamline design and manufacturing process, eliminate inefficiencies and improve overall productivity for GT, ST, GEN and Aero New Unit and Service projects.
• Develop, mentor, coach, recognize the team support technical career growth.
• Develop standard work and daily management to ensure operational excellence.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement to meet or exceed the annual priorities.
• Support the team in interactions with Authorities and Inspection/Certification agencies.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and interfaces with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
• Lead, drive & resolve safety and critical quality issues for successful project execution.
• Drive organizational goals like standardization, continuous improvements, process enhancements by using lean methods and tools.
• Actively support business initiatives in Quality, Lean, Continuous Improvement related to Technical Regulations and Standards
• Promote Company culture and the GE Vernova Ways.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Having minimum 8 years of experience in power generation.
• Strong understanding of Technical Regulations and Standards
• Strong oral and written communication skills with peers and leadership.
• Operational understanding of the relevant business function.
• Demonstrated ability to work across global teams.
• Occasional travel required.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience in working with specific regulatory compliance agencies (HSB, Lloyds, TUV, BV, UDT, etc.)
• Working experience of international, national and local codes and standards including but not limited to Machinery Safety, Functional Safety, Explosive Atmospheres, Pressure Equipment, Building Codes, Fire Codes, Electrical Safety, and Environmental, Health & Safety.
• Gas Power Technology tools knowledge: PLM, PTS, eDRB, Oravle Alpha
• ISO 9001 familiarity
• Experience and/or knowledge of Design, Engineering, Manufacture, Assembly, Installation and/or testing on GT, ST, Gen and GT/ST accessories.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience: proven ability to work with engineering, project management
• Demonstrated problem solving capability
• Demonstrated dedication to GE Vernova values and principles, high level of integrity.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes in priorities.
• Lean and Six Sigma experience/certification.
