Job Description Summary
The Corporate and Treasury Accountant provides accounting support for corporate entities, covering monthly close, preparation of financial statements, treasury functions, and establishing and maintaining accurate accounting records. This role works closely with onshore corporate accounting and treasury teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and supports a wide range of recurring and ad hoc accounting and treasury functions. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple entities in a fast-paced environment. Key Accountabilities:
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accrual-based GAAP financial statements for all corporate entities within established deadlines, in accordance with company accounting policies and procedures
- Reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts monthly, researching and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner, along with preparing variance analyses of applicable income statement and balance sheet captions
- Generate standard, intercompany, recurring, and non-recurring journal entries, resolving questions arising from unusual variances or fluctuations
- Maintain the corporate close calendar and checklist, confirming all assigned tasks are completed and supported within the close timeline
- Prepare intercompany allocation and management fee entries, confirming balances agree across entities and eliminate properly in consolidation
- Maintain the corporate fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules, including monthly depreciation and amortization entries
Invoice Processing & Other Corporate Accounting Functions
- Review and approve invoices for appropriate coding, accuracy, and supporting documentation prior to payment
- Assist with the annual Corporate G&A budget process, including preparation and review of budget inputs
- Prepare monthly G&A variance analysis against prior period and provide commentary on significant fluctuations for onshore review
- Process corporate accruals for unbilled and unvouchered expenses at month-end
- Review and process employee expense reports in Concur, verifying receipts, coding, and booking the related entries and accruals to the appropriate entity and cost center
- Provide general corporate accounting support, as needed.
Treasury Support
- Assist with treasury functions, including initiating wires and ACH payments, processing cash transfers, and monitoring daily cash positions
- Assist with debt and derivative reporting, including preparing monthly interest recalculation packages (verifying interest rate resets, day-count conventions, and payment amounts against loan agreements and derivative contracts)
- Prepare monthly interest expense reports and quarterly debt/derivative reporting packages, including debt schedules and maturity/covenant summaries
- Support the weekly cash position and short-term cash forecast for onshore treasury review
- Maintain the debt and derivative schedule, updating balances, rates, and maturity dates monthly
- Provide general treasury support, as needed.
Required Experience:
- Education
- University/College Accounting degree consistent with local market expectations for role
- Accounting certifications consistent with local market expectations for role.
- Experience
- 4 plus years of accounting experience required
- Experience with month-end closing activities and financial reporting processes required
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close responsibilities
- Experience in a GCC (Global Capability Center), shared services, or BPO environment supporting a US-based team is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate corporate financial data
- US GAAP Proficiency: Working knowledge of US GAAP, including accrual accounting, consolidations, and debt and derivative accounting
- Knowledge of Department Policies, Processes, and Procedures
- Software Tools & Applications: Strong MS Excel skills required; familiarity with ERP and accounting systems such as MRI and Oracle is preferred.
