We are looking for a dedicated Logistics & Site Operations Manager to provide strong operational and people leadership across our Portsmouth facility. This role is critical in ensuring excellent day-to-day operations, high standards of facility maintenance, effective inventory management, and a culture of safety and performance.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring an organised and solutions-focused professional with proven experience in site or stores management. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the team, driving process improvements, managing contractors, and ensuring the site remains a clean, safe, and efficient environment to support our wider business goals.

- People Management: Lead the warehouse/facilities team, including workload allocation, conducting 1:1s, performance management, setting objectives, and overseeing staff rotas, recruitment, onboarding, and training.
- Site Governance: Maintain site documentation, enforce company policies, monitor security and Health & Safety procedures, and ensure all mandatory site maintenance and contractor management activities are up to date.
- Inventory & Assets: Own the Inventory Management System, administering stock control and checks, processing inbound/outbound deliveries, and managing the governance of all site tools and assets.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively implement process improvement initiatives and maintain the warehouse organization and structure to meet targets and deadlines.
- Financial & Admin Support: Provide input into the facility’s operational budget, order consumables, produce reports, and respond to information requests in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Engineers and Service Account Managers (SAMs) to ensure a joined-up approach, effectively troubleshooting and deconflicting priorities across multiple site functions.
- Culture: Foster an inclusive, high-performing team environment that attracts, develops, and retains talent, while leading by example in promoting GE Vernova’s values of safety, quality, integrity, and operational excellence.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and incumbents will be expected to undertake all reasonable duties as requested.
Qualifications for the Role
- Proven experience as a site or stores team leader/manager, with a solid understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and site management procedures.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team, including performance management, HR procedures, and an understanding of employment law basics.
- Strong knowledge of site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and experience implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with site management software, databases, and managing on- site contractors.
- GCSE in English & Maths (or equivalent); desirable qualifications include MHE training, Passport to Safety, First Aid at Work, or EHS accreditation
Personal Qualities
- Problem-Solver: An analytical, logical, and methodical thinker who remains calm under pressure and can effectively troubleshoot complex operational challenges.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a wide variety of stakeholders effectively.
- Resilience: Ability to adapt and balance competing operational priorities across the whole facility while maintaining high levels of self-discipline.
- Leadership: Strong people-leadership skills with a passion for coaching, motivating, and developing others.
- Integrity: A trustworthy and organized professional committed to upholding GE Vernova’s values through inclusive leadership and continuous improvement.
