Description
We are seeking an experienced General Manager looking to take the helm of a high-volume, landmark restaurant in downtown Baltimore. Positioned near major event spaces and sports venues, this concept offers a rare combination of rich architectural character, high-energy event surges, and strong guest loyalty.
This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial hospitality leader who brings fresh initiative and a desire to make continuous improvements across every level of the business. The General Manager leads a comprehensive operation which scales dynamically with major local events, conventions, and private buyouts; the ideal leader thrives on adaptability—turning high-volume event days into seamless, profitable shifts while strategically managing quieter periods. If you're looking for a professional challenge, this might be it!
Compensation: $85,000 – $115,000 per year + Competitive Benefits, Bonus, and PTO.
Responsibilities
- Drive Operational Excellence: Bring a sharp eye for detail, implementing fresh processes and modernizing workflows across all front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Master Staffing & Scheduling: Write all master labor schedules, intelligently matching staffing levels to event calendars to maximize high-volume revenue while controlling costs during slower stretches.
- Empower a Large Team: Mentor and direct a multi-tiered leadership team while inspiring a floor and kitchen staff of nearly 70 hospitality professionals.
- Manage Facilities & Culture: Oversee the unique day-to-day needs of a historic property, preserving its distinct character while keeping the space fully operational, safe, and inviting.
- Execute Private Events: Collaborate with management and culinary teams to seamlessly host large-scale private events, buyouts, and group gatherings.
- Financial Stewardship: Monitor key P&L metrics and optimize labor, food, and beverage costs to ensure strong profitability across all revenue streams.
Qualifications
- Proven Track Record: Experience managing operations with $4M+ in annual revenue, ideally within event-driven or high-traffic hospitality environments.
- Owner’s Mindset: A background as a former owner or senior operator with the confidence, autonomy, and drive to make high-impact operational choices.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to pivot strategies quickly based on changing volume and local event schedules.
- Strong Leadership: A proven ability to coach management teams, build positive workplace culture, and maintain high service standards under pressure.
