## What you’ll do:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the purchasing of raw materials and finished goods across Eaton's product networks. This role will be accountable for the end-to-end purchasing process, managing demand requirements and supplier fulfillment. You will lead teams of buyers in multiple countries supporting the Electrical business. This role will be responsible for project purchasing, which is an area we are transforming, and it will play a key role in that transformation.

This role will provide functional leadership in achieving the strategic objectives of the Materials function in material planning. The successful candidate will identify and drive high-impact projects in alignment with the Electrical Sector EMEA Materials Strategy and the Business SCM strategy. Learning & Development and Talent Management are also key aspects of the role.

Main Responsibilities:

1\. Be accountable for end-to-end purchasing activities and achieving KPIs. Provide leadership and direction to the team and build a scalable, capable organization through the development and deployment of standard processes across all businesses. These processes should be accepted as benchmark solutions that enable improved material management and planning with key cross-functional stakeholders, including SIOP and Network Planning.

2\. Provide leadership to people managers to develop Buyer and Planner teams, and implement and achieve Buyer and Planner performance metrics.

3\. Build organizational capability through development plans, mentoring, accountability, cross-training, and succession planning. This will be one of the primary objectives of the position.

4\. The scope is further extended to increasing the breadth and depth of engagement in supply planning, enhancing the value of current work, standardizing processes, and recommending best practices to Eaton sites based on proven results.

5\. Drive key initiatives aligned with the Materials CoE goals and priorities across People, Processes, and Tools. Drive digitalization initiatives to improve efficiency.

6\. Enable the team to own and drive business impact goals such as On-Time Delivery, past-due reduction, and excess and obsolete inventory reduction and control. Support various analytical requirements related to materials management.

7\. Customer Engagement and Satisfaction: Drive stakeholder engagement and satisfaction by meeting expectations and needs. Monitor KPIs and customer feedback through periodic meetings, and ensure timely resolution of customer queries and concerns. Plan, schedule, and manage defined business services, delivering against agreed timelines, budgets, quality criteria, and commitments.

8\. This role will be responsible for adhering to the transition process of all operational buyer roles into the CoE and identifying any associated risks in collaboration with the Project Team.

9\. This individual will interact with CoE teams globally and drive effective process improvements.

10\. Manage team dynamics by keeping the team motivated and connected. Ensure fair performance evaluations through a strong feedback mechanism. Identify and deploy appropriate training and upskilling initiatives for the team.

11\. Train and support the team in working effectively with global customers.

12\. Manage a team of approximately 40 Buyers.

## Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Materials/Production/Operations Management/Engineering)
  • 10+ years of Experience in Materials Management

## Skills:

  • Experience in Project and Flow purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP required. Kinaxis knowledge would be nice to have.
  • Proven track record in driving Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Being a problem solver and able to identify root cause issues
  • The ability to navigate a matrix organisation and build collaborative partnerships to drive CI.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, customer service, and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, operations and Supply Chain Management personnel.
  • Being a change agent driving large scale transformation within the organisation
