Job Description

The Functional Business Analyst (FVP) will play a strategic role in shaping and delivering next-generation Corporate Digital Banking capabilities across UOB's regional footprint. The role will be responsible for defining business and functional requirements, designing end-to-end customer journeys, and driving the successful delivery of corporate banking digital channel solutions including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Host-to-Host (H2H), API Banking, Digital Onboarding, Cash Management, Payments, Collections, Liquidity Management and Trade Finance services.
The successful candidate will possess deep Transaction Banking and Digital Channel domain expertise, strong business analysis capabilities, and a proven track record in delivering complex regional banking transformation programs across ASEAN markets.
The role requires close collaboration with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Business stakeholders to ensure scalable, customer-centric and compliant digital banking solutions.

Job Responsibilities

1) Requirements Analysis & Solution Design

  • Partner with Business, Product Owners and regional stakeholders to elicit, analyse and validate business requirements.
  • Translate business objectives into detailed functional and non-functional requirements with end-to-end traceability.
  • Design target-state digital banking journeys and operational processes for corporate clients.
  • Perform impact assessments across systems, products, operations, channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Document business process flows, user journeys, service blueprints and functional specifications.
  • Ensure requirements align with business strategy, regulatory obligations and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Manage requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle and prevent uncontrolled scope expansion.

3) Customer Journey & Experience Design

  • Define end-to-end digital customer journeys across web, mobile, API and H2H channels.
  • Design role-based user journeys covering administrators, initiators, approvers and auditors.
  • Develop requirements for entitlements, maker-checker controls, transaction limits and approval workflows.
  • Partner with UX and Technology teams to deliver intuitive, scalable and customer-centric solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify customer processes and improve digital adoption.

4) Regional Banking & Regulatory Alignment

  • Incorporate country-specific business and regulatory requirements across ASEAN markets.
  • Understand regional payment ecosystems and market infrastructures.
  • Support solution design across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and other key regional markets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, audit and security requirements.
  • Assess impacts of regulatory changes on channel capabilities and customer journeys.

5) Target Operating Model & Process Transformation

  • Design target operating models encompassing people, process, technology and governance.
  • Define operational controls, exception management, reconciliation and service support processes.
  • Develop process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability and customer experience.
  • Support operational readiness, implementation planning and post-production stabilization.

6) Delivery Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary functional authority for assigned initiatives.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Teams and System Analysts to ensure complete understanding of requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions with senior stakeholders.
  • Challenge business requirements constructively and recommend alternative solutions aligned with industry best practices.
  • Drive governance, requirement sign-offs and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

7) Testing & Release Management

  • Collaborate with Test Managers and Business Users to define test strategies and scenarios.
  • Validate requirements coverage across SIT, UAT and Production Verification activities.
  • Support defect triage and root cause analysis.
  • Perform impact assessment for change requests and production enhancements.
  • Prepare release notes and contribute to deployment and implementation planning.

Job Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of banking, transaction banking, digital banking or consulting experience.
  • At least 10 years of Business Analysis or Functional Analysis experience delivering large-scale banking transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience working in regional banking environments across ASEAN markets.
  • Strong understanding of banking operating models, customer journeys and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering mission-critical banking platforms and customer-facing digital solutions.

Domain Expertise (Mandatory)

  • Deep expertise in Corporate Digital Banking platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Transaction Banking products and services.
  • Experience delivering Internet Banking and Mobile Banking solutions for corporate clients.
  • Proven experience in API Banking and Host-to-Host integration capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of corporate payments, collections and liquidity management services.
  • Experience defining user entitlements, workflow controls, limits and approval frameworks.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong Agile delivery experience including JIRA backlog management and sprint execution.
  • Ability to bridge business and technology teams effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of regional payment infrastructures including FAST, PayNow, GIRO, DuitNow, PromptPay, FPS and other ASEAN payment schemes.
  • Understanding of SWIFT messaging standards and ISO 20022 adoption.
  • Experience with Open Banking, API ecosystems and digital platform modernization.
  • Exposure to cloud-based digital banking architectures and microservices-based platforms.
  • Knowledge of corporate treasury, liquidity and cash management solutions.
  • Experience with commercial banking platforms offered by leading regional and global banks.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in digital banking, embedded banking and real-time payments.
