Essential Job Functions:
(Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.)
- Maintains and updates computerized project and grant records.
- Enters invoice information to create project invoice proposals for reimbursements.
- Reviews invoices and payment records for reimbursements; makes sure the project postings match invoices; prepares support for reimbursements.
- Reconciles expenses and project postings.
- Verifies the status of purchase requisitions and purchase orders (commitments) in D365.
- Distributes project salary files.
- Communicates with employees to verify and/or clarify information.
- Enters all data into projects and grants systems.
- Verifies calculation of project expense information.
- Tracks reimbursements to ensure timely payment and recording.
- Prepares detailed account analysis (spreadsheets) to assist in resolution of project inquiries.
- Communicates with employees to clarify the project processes.
- Manage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Basic knowledge of accounting methods and processes as they relate to revenue accounting. Practical knowledge of computerized accounting systems. Ability to enter data into accounting records accurately. Ability to explain accounting processes to employees.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential. Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected. Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.

Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies. Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within the workplace to their Supervisor, Manager and/or the Safety Department.
Training and/or Education:
Possession of a High School diploma or GED certificate. Accounting or bookkeeping courses.
Required Experience:
One year of experience in accounting clerical work, data entry or related experience. One-year experience in the use of IBM compatible computers including commercial word processing and spreadsheet software packages.
Licenses or Certificates:
Possess a valid Driver's License. Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).
