London, London Bridge Hospital Laboratory
Fixed Term Contract – 14 months
Full time, Monday to Friday with weekend cover as required
Shift patterns include 7.30am – 4pm, 8am – 4.30pm, 10.30am – 7pm and 12.30pm – 9pm

We’re looking for an Advanced / Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Sciences Laboratory at The London Bridge Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. London Bridge Hospital is one of the UK's leading private hospitals, recognised for delivering complex and acute care across a wide range of specialties. As part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team, you’ll work in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and your development is supported.
As an Advanced Biomedical Scientist within our Blood Sciences Laboratory, you’ll play an important role in delivering a high quality 24 hour pathology service. Working across Haematology, Biochemistry and Specimen Reception, you’ll develop broad multidisciplinary expertise while supporting the efficient operation of the laboratory. Alongside analytical and diagnostic responsibilities, you’ll contribute to the day to day running of the department, helping to maintain quality standards, support service improvements and ensure timely, accurate results for clinicians and patients. What you’ll do:
  • Process laboratory samples accurately and efficiently across Haematology and Biochemistry
  • Interpret, validate and report results in a timely manner
  • Support the day to day operation of the Pathology department alongside the Service Lead
  • Maintain quality standards through document control, stock management and equipment maintenance records
  • Collaborate with Specimen Reception and wider laboratory teams to ensure a seamless service
What you’ll bring:
  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Membership of the Institute of Biomedical Science
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Multidisciplinary experience within Blood Sciences
  • Strong knowledge of Haematology and Biochemistry laboratory practices
