This role will ensure the correct application of U.S. GAAP and accuracy, quality and compliance of the Company's financial reporting. Partner with Business Unit and Regional finance representatives to provide guidance on various areas of accounting as well as compliance with the Company's Global Policies and local regulations.
How you’ll make an impact:
Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of financial transactions and audits (e.g. SOX), and/or perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
Collaborate with other departments to gather data and resolve accounting issues.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and system efficiency (e.g. participate in User Acceptance Testing).
Participate in training and stay updated on accounting standards and tools.
Other incidental duties: May be required to work on tasks of team members. Assist team to ensure Edwards compliance by applying knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., Sunshine Act, SOX, US and Local GAAP financials, SEC, IRS) to develop explanations for internal and external auditors.
What you’ll need (Required):
Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting or related fields and 1 to 3 years of experience in General Accounting processes or related areas.
What else are we look (Preferred):
Technical School graduated with a technical degree in accounting.
Good understanding of international accounting principles (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS), local GAPP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (JDE preferred) including Excel with general knowledge of accounts payable process and system (Coupa preferred).
Experience with import costs and related accounting processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
Basic- intermediate communication skills in Portuguese.
Experience in Business Centers as a plus.
Good problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills
Good knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Strict attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and representing the department on specific projects.
Ability to pilot financial processes, report, and work on continuous improvements based on feedback.
