The Trade & Operations Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of Value-Added-Services trade, operational and store support initiatives across the Pick n Pay store network.Working across Corporate, Franchise and partner environments, the role ensures that store design principles, merchandising standards, operational requirements and customer experience initiatives are consistently implemented across new stores, refurbishments and existing locations.
The role serves as the operational bridge between Product, Marketing, Store Operations, the Drawing Office, external partners and suppliers, coordinating multiple initiatives simultaneously to ensure stores are execution-ready, projects are delivered on time and operational standards are maintained.
Beyond store implementation, the role is responsible for coordinating major trade events, managing the operational execution of retail media assets, supporting Value-Added Services activations, and ensuring stores consistently present the business at the standard expected of the Pick n Pay brand.
National Diploma in any of the following:
Retail Management
Business Administration / Commerce
Marketing
Operations Management
Supply Chain / Logistics
Experience Required:
4–6 years’ experience in retail operations, merchandising, project coordination or store implementation.
Experience coordinating multiple operational projects simultaneously.
Experience working across cross-functional retail teams.
Exposure to store development, visual merchandising, trade marketing or retail operations is advantageous.
Event coordination experience within a retail or FMCG environment is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
Store Planning & Design Coordination
Coordinate store planning activities with the Drawing Office for new stores, refurbishments and layout changes.
Ensure approved store design principles are consistently applied across all implementations.
Prepare and coordinate planning briefs for new initiatives.
Monitor planning milestones and proactively manage implementation timelines.
Support store readiness before opening, relaunches and major operational changes.
Trade & Operational Implementation
Coordinate the rollout of trade, operational and product initiatives across the store network.
Develop implementation plans, timelines and deployment schedules.
Coordinate cross-functional activities between Product, Marketing, Operations and suppliers.
Identify implementation risks and ensure timely resolution.
Monitor execution quality and escalate barriers impacting delivery.
In-Store Communication & Merchandising
Coordinate the implementation of all in-store communication and promotional material.
Ensure stores receive accurate communication, POS material and merchandising assets within agreed timelines.
Support promotional activations, seasonal campaigns and partner launches.
Coordinate replacement, maintenance and installation of in-store branding where required.
Retail Media Operations
Own the operational coordination of all retail media assets across the store network.
Ensure televisions, digital media screens, media boxes and associated infrastructure remain operational.
Coordinate maintenance, repairs and replacement of media equipment.
Manage campaign flighting schedules with Marketing and Product teams.
Monitor campaign execution and maximise media uptime to protect commercial income opportunities.
Produce regular reporting on media asset availability and execution performance.
Value-Added Services & Partner Activation
Coordinate the implementation of Value-Added Services initiatives across stores.
Support partner activations including courier services, parcel solutions, ticketing, financial services and other strategic partnerships.
Ensure stores are operationally ready for new partner launches.
Coordinate communication, merchandising and operational support requirements.
Monitor implementation quality and resolve operational issues impacting customer experience.
Events & Trade Exhibitions
Coordinate the end-to-end operational delivery of Franchise Trade Shows, Food & Wine events, supplier exhibitions, dealer conferences and other strategic events.
Coordinate exhibition build, logistics, merchandising, promotional assets and stakeholder requirements.
Liaise with suppliers, agencies, partners and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Support event execution on-site, ensuring the business is represented to the highest professional standard.
Capture learnings and continuous improvement opportunities following each event.
Store Audits & Operational Standards
Conduct regular store audits assessing execution against merchandising, communication and operational standards.
Identify opportunities to improve consistency across the store network.
Produce actionable audit reports and track corrective actions through to completion.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance store execution.
