Position Overview

Dixon Social Interactive Services (DSIS) is seeking a qualified and compassionate Assistant Clinical Manager to support the management, administration, and access-to-care model across programs at an assigned DSIS site.

The Assistant Clinical Manager works under the direction of the Clinical Manager and plays an important role in ensuring continuity of care, timely access to services, quality clinical operations, and compliance with NC Medicaid, NCDHHS, applicable licensing boards, and DSIS standards.

This position provides both clinical and leadership support across multiple programs and services. The Assistant Clinical Manager will also receive training in the full scope of Clinical Manager responsibilities and may provide coverage for the Clinical Manager as needed.

Required Clinical Credentials

Candidates must:

  • Hold a current North Carolina license, provisional or full, as LCSW(-A), LCMHC(-A), LMFT(-A), LCAS(-A), or an equivalent qualifying credential.

  • Maintain active licensure in good standing and fulfill required board supervision requirements if provisionally licensed.

  • Be willing and able to conduct Diagnostic Assessments (DAs) and Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) to support intake and access-to-care goals.

Programs & Services

The Assistant Clinical Manager may provide support across a range of DSIS programs, including but not limited to:

  • Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (SACOT)

  • Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP)

  • Tailored Care Management (TCM)

  • Intensive In-Home (IIH)

  • Peer Support Services (PSS)

  • Outpatient Therapy (OPT)

  • Additional DSIS programs developed in the future, including in-person and virtual services

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations

  • Participate in programs and services offered at the assigned DSIS site.

  • Conduct Diagnostic Assessments (DAs), Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs), and other required clinical documentation.

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy based on program needs and assignments.

  • Assist with treatment plan development, implementation, and review.

  • Support continuity of care and high-quality clinical service delivery.

Leadership & Staff Support

  • Support the supervision and development of QPs, APs, PP's, CADCs, and other assigned staff.

  • Assist with onboarding, mentoring, orientation, and training of new employees.

  • Provide clinical guidance and support to staff.

  • Assist with performance reviews and professional development planning.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Access-to-Care & Service Integration

  • Support the site's access-to-care model to facilitate timely client onboarding and service initiation.

  • Help monitor access-to-care goals and identify barriers to timely services.

  • Assist with the implementation of site-wide clinical initiatives and new program rollouts.

  • Support coverage and caseload management across services.

  • Promote coordination and integration of services across programs.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure documentation is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with NC Medicaid, NCDHHS, licensing board, and DSIS requirements.

  • Participate in chart audits, quality assurance activities, and compliance monitoring.

  • Support staff in maintaining appropriate clinical documentation and billing standards.

  • Assist in addressing documentation and compliance concerns.

Crisis Response & Intervention

  • Respond to client crises in accordance with DSIS policies and clinical protocols.

  • Assist clients and caregivers with the development of individualized crisis plans.

  • Collaborate with treatment team members, caregivers, and other providers during crisis situations.

Scope of Services

The Assistant Clinical Manager is expected to:

  • Maintain flexibility to work across programs and services at the assigned site.

  • Provide coverage for Clinical Manager responsibilities when needed.

  • Work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Support additional clinical and operational responsibilities as assigned.

Required Training

The Assistant Clinical Manager will be expected to complete and maintain training in areas including:

  • BH I/DD Tailored Plan eligibility and services

  • Whole-person health and unmet resource needs

  • Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI/NCI)

  • HIPAA and confidentiality

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Clinical documentation and Medicaid compliance

  • Required continuing education (CEUs)

  • Clinical supervision requirements and participation

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related human services field.

  • Minimum of two years of post-graduate supervised experience providing behavioral health services preferred.

  • Experience in community-based behavioral health, substance use, or related clinical settings is preferred.

  • Strong clinical documentation, assessment, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Licensure

Must hold and maintain an active North Carolina license or provisional license in one of the following:

  • LCSW-A / LCSW

  • LCMHC-A / LCMHC

  • LMFT-A / LMFT

  • LCAS-A / LCAS

Certifications

Must maintain:

  • NCI certification

  • Community First Aid/CPR certification

  • Any additional certifications required by DSIS

Key Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • 100% compliance with applicable documentation and Medicaid billing standards.

  • Successful completion of training in the full scope of Clinical Manager responsibilities within established timelines.

  • Positive client outcomes based on progress toward treatment plan goals.

  • 90%+ accuracy and submission rate for required assessments within established timelines.

  • Consistent achievement of access-to-care and service delivery goals.

  • Effective staff support and compliance with DSIS clinical standards.
