Description

The Japan Rates Derivatives Trade Support Group (TSG) Vice President role is responsible for supporting the end-to-end operational processes for Rates Derivatives traded by the firm. This includes trade capture, confirmation, lifecycle event management, settlement monitoring, reconciliation, regulatory reporting and incident management, with a strong focus on risk control, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.
We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in ISG Fixed Income Operations to support the end-to-end operational processes for Japan Rates Derivatives. This includes partnering with Trading, Sales, Technology, Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance to ensure transactions are accurately captured, confirmed, settled, reconciled, and controlled throughout the trade lifecycle.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls, and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services ISG job family, providing end-to-end operational support to Institutional Securities Group (ISG) businesses and ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of transactions throughout the trade lifecycle.

What you'll do in the role:
> Serve as a subject matter expert for Japan Rates Derivatives, working with the team to manage processes, risks and projects, and proposing and implementing improvements and changes
> Act as a key problem solver, applying detailed product and lifecycle knowledge to address complex or novel situations, recognize risks, and draw out key issues
> Oversee daily production, coordinate work, and train and develop team members where required, including task allocation, cross-training, and project contribution
> Partner with Trading, Sales and other stakeholders to deliver operational excellence, clear communication, timely issue resolution, and proactive service management
> Support regulatory, audit, and internal control reviews, ensuring documentation, evidence, and responses are accurate and timely
> Contribute to regional and global alignment by sharing best practices and supporting harmonisation of Rates Derivatives operations processes What you'll bring to the role:
> - Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels
> Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Rates Derivatives operations and the operational and compliance policies and procedures of the team
> Ability to provide effective oversight of complex issues and escalations
> Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model
> Familiarity with Japanese market practices and regulatory requirements relevant to Rates Derivatives
> Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including trade capture, confirmation, lifecycle events, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management
> Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Japanese language capability is preferred
> At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
