The JOB

As a Retail Shop Attendant, you’ll help create a welcoming and memorable shopping experience for resort guests and island visitors.

Our retail shop is an extension of the Jekyll Island Club Resort experience, offering guests the opportunity to discover unique gifts, resort merchandise, apparel, souvenirs, and special finds to remember their stay.

You’ll assist guests with purchases and product selections while helping keep the shop beautifully presented, organized, and ready to welcome visitors throughout the day.

What You’ll Do:

• Welcome guests and provide warm, personalized service
• Assist guests with merchandise selections and purchases
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions
• Restock and organize merchandise
• Assist with inventory and merchandise control
• Maintain attractive, inviting retail displays
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Answer questions about merchandise, the resort, and Jekyll Island
• Assist the Retail Supervisor with daily shop operations
• Help create an elevated retail experience that reflects the character of our historic resort

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, polished, dependable, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people. Retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but a welcoming personality and willingness to learn are just as important.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable assisting guests with purchases and recommendations
• Ability to accurately handle cash and point-of-sale transactions
• Organized with strong attention to detail
• Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to maintain an attractive, organized, and guest-ready shop
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and assisting with stocking merchandise
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Most importantly, a positive attitude and genuine desire to provide exceptional hospitality
