Systems Administrator III

Description

Quantum Sky is searching for a Systems Administrator III for a complex, multi-year contract to support the 17th TRSS Training Support Squadron, Goodfellow AFB, Texas. This role will support intelligence training programs, applications, and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a focal point for intelligence training applications or systems; 
• Respond to user requests for assistance; and Provide support to customers regarding hardware and software malfunctions. 
• Identify and resolve common problems, questions, or situations and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions to the customer’s ability to carry out the training mission.
• Provide training to instructors and other FSAs on intelligence applications, specialized computer software, and operating systems.
• From time-to-time support, coordinate, and install software applications and hardware peripherals on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms.
• Develop and maintain system administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions. Support the use of computer-based training products (i.e. computer-assisted instruction (CAI), interactive courseware (ICW), interactive multimedia instruction (IMI), and learning management systems (LMS), to maximize resources and return on investment (ROI).
• Maintain consolidated IMI project effort tracking spreadsheet to sync training requirements with outside development efforts and deliver/maintain all updates and new courseware created.
• Provide operational support services including, but not limited to, systems administration, support of both legacy and new applications and systems in accordance with AFI 33-115, Network Operations, and DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program.

• Install, support, and maintain intelligence training applications and systems; software is provided by applicable Program Management Office (PMO); updates/patches are provided via website for download or mailed on disk, where appropriate.

• Additionally, will be appointed as Cyber Security Liaisons (CSL, formerly IAO), to submit tickets in IAO Express and Remedy for EITaaS ServiceNow, NIPRNet, SIPRNet and other training networks to resolve and/or respond to computer issues, security group requests, distro lists including but not limited to.

• Will be required to track submitted tickets and provide status updates when requested.

• Oversee account management and email account support for the training networks and LMS; modify user account access (security groups, permissions, IMI access, etc.) after user accounts have been created.

• Provide primary support for Tools/Systems of Record to include but not limited to: Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)/Geospatial Product Library (GPL), ArcGIS, Digital Mapping Applications, Electronic Light Table (ELT),  and/or current mission planning software applications/upgrades.

• Be the subject matter expert on these intelligence applications and provide daily classroom support to instructors and students.

• Troubleshoot application/system errors and provide fixed action as required.

• Provide system administration, hardware and software support, life cycle support, and maintenance on GCCS-I3 server suite and client machines to include, but not limited to assistance, as required, to support targeting application and software functions with the JTT-CP Joint Targeting Toolkit Capabilities Package MIDB / Machine Assisted Rapid-repository System (MARS), or equivalent and/or current systems, revisions, or upgrades.

• Provide primary management for LMS and IMI delivery systems and applications; provide training and troubleshooting support to instructor cadre and training development

  element; maintain LMS webserver and IMI courseware received from 17 TRSS personnel; create LMS accounts and provide needed access permissions; ensure webserver administrators update/patch webserver; and oversee all LMS duties and ensure system uptime.

• Build, test, capture, and deploy system baselines and images, to include, within a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment, including the Targeting Application Workstation (TAW) spiral load received from the PMO.

• Manage a VMware vSphere Infrastructure and Desktop/End-user computing environment running the Tools/Systems of Record. Deploy VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, VMware Dynamic Environment Manager, and NetApp storage, as required.

• Set up, configure and maintain the following components: Dell VxRail Manager Suite, vCenter, vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), Horizon View, Virtual Desktop Provisioning (Full clone or Instant Clones) – Persistent and Non-persistent desktops, NetApp OnTap in cluster mode, virtual machine templates, TITAN, MS Windows system imaging, user profiles, and current equivalents.

• Manage backup and restore functionality on all intelligence training applications and systems; administer a storage array appliance to ensure data integrity and availability; provide SME guidance to designated individuals for squadron specific functions; provide assistance setting up and running virtual events (for example: commander calls, all calls, etc.) using Zoom.Gov, Facebook Live, and/or any other platform designated by the customer.

Qualifications

Required:

• Knowledge of Enterprise IT architecture
• Ability to accurately define incidents, problems, and events in trouble ticketing system
• Knowledge of IT security principles and methods
• Skills in configuring and utilizing software-based tools
• Skills in diagnosing connectivity problems
• Monitoring and optimizing system/server performance
• Knowledge of measures or indicators of system performance and availability
• Knowledge of operating system command line tools
• Skill in troubleshooting system components
• Skill in operating systems administration
• Bachelor’s degree desired
• 5-7 years’ Experience
• Sec+ Certification

Clearance: 

• Active DoD Top Secret

Travel:

• Minimal, less than 10%

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $60,000-$70,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
