Job Summary

The Team Agilist is responsible for enabling a single Agile Team to operate effectively, continuously improve, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes aligned to product objectives. Acting as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator, this role drives Agile team effectiveness by strengthening Agile practices, fostering collaboration, removing impediments, and helping teams mature toward predictable, sustainable delivery.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Agile partners, the Team Agilist promotes transparency, accountability, and continuous learning while supporting the team's progression toward high performance and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Facilitate team sprint ceremonies, including planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach team members on Agile, Lean, and product development practices to promote sustainable, predictable delivery.
  • Ensure work meets the team's Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) standards.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to improve backlog refinement, prioritization, and delivery readiness.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership to strengthen Agile technical practices and team effectiveness.
  • Align team ways of working with organizational Agile frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Remove impediments and escalate systemic issues that impact delivery outcomes.
  • Guide the team in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team maturity, quality, and agility.
  • Promote transparency through effective communication of progress, dependencies, risks, and metrics.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, feedback, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Actively participate in Agile communities of practice through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and ongoing development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Team Agilist, Service Delivery Manager, or similar Agile leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success guiding Agile teams through varying stages of maturity and transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP practices.
  • Experience supporting delivery within product-centric, cross-functional environments.
  • Proven facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and coach team members, stakeholders, and leaders on Agile principles and practices.
  • Experience utilizing Agile metrics, Inspect & Adapt techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Background working within software product development environments, including both new product delivery and ongoing enhancement efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others while remaining open to coaching and feedback.

Preferred Distinctions

  • Experience in fintech, SaaS, digital banking, or other high-growth technology organizations.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD methodologies, and modern software engineering approaches.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting distributed or global teams across multiple locations.
  • Passion for fostering high-performing teams and driving continuous organizational improvement.
