Job Description

Takes responsibility for daily operations, personnel management, task delegation, and general supervision of all data integration activities at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Performs at top proficiency in delivery of data integration and migration solutions, data use for business and research, and business intelligence and traditional reporting software suites. Drives projects to completion and sets example for responding to customer-driven services and customer requests by engaging junior team members and mid-level business professionals. Serves as role model for professionalism, customer service, and technical knowledge in field of expertise.

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in electronic data interchange, interfaces, healthcare information systems development, and clinical data management
  • Experience in HL7, X12, XML standards for interface analysis and development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Epic Bridges interface administrator certification

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent technical training and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of interface engines, e.g., Sybase and Epic Bridges
  • Well-developed organizational, written communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff and patient care systems users
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
  • Working knowledge of interfacing with databases, e.g., SQL and Oracle
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry-accepted best practices and trends

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages all aspects of a team, both technical and business, responsible for delivery of database administration solutions.
  • Leads key strategic project initiatives as assigned, developing comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource plans, communications, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Coordinates with various business and technical partners whose support is needed to build and deploy integration solutions and projects.
  • Facilitates prioritization of projects and requirements among competing business interests.
  • Provides facilitation and consultation in areas where expertise and firsthand knowledge can be beneficial.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with teams across organizational lines.
  • Understands and effectively utilizes Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s engine integration tool, functions, and features.
  • Develops and documents new interface builds, coordinates testing, and manages issues.
  • Understands and effectively follows technical guidelines and best practices for area of specialization, e.g., engine configuration, HL7 interface development standards, Epic Bridges interface specifications.
  • Maintains professional development through training and seminars.
  • Assist Supervisor and/or Manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
  • Provide Supervisor and/or Manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
