Manufacturing & Facilities Technician
Department: Manufacturing Department
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Jupiter, FL
Reporting To: Production Manager
Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 / hour
Description
A typical day may involve assembling or reworking production components, preparing materials for shipment, moving products or materials throughout the facility, completing required documentation, or handling a routine facility maintenance task.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs a wide range of skilled repetitive mechanical assembly operations in support of production projects.
- Assembles, modifies, reworks, and/or reassembles production components utilizing drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and/or verbal instructions.
- Prepares and utilizes basic hand tools and machines including but not limited to power screwdriver, ruler, solder iron, clamp machine, heat gun, vise, solder pot, crimpers, pinning machine, and automatic wire strippers.
- Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence.
- Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
- Completes all required paperwork; prepares required reports and correspondence.
- Places merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods
- Inspects shipping containers to ensure they meet shipping regulations.
- Assembles daily orders by shipping location or any other shipping categories
- Assist with light facility maintenance, including HVAC filter changes, basic plumbing needs, replacing bulbs, and minor repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow applicable safety requirements and safe work practices at all times
What to Expect Physically
- Standing frequently throughout the workday
- Lifting, pushing, and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling
- Working around moving mechanical equipment, machinery, and vehicles
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) based on the task being performed
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Previous experience driving a box truck
- Experience with basic facility maintenance or general hands-on repair work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety requirements, and assembly drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to organize and prioritize work as needs change
- Willingness to learn and take on a variety of responsibilities
- Ability to work independently from written or verbal instructions
