Risk Management Intern
Department Overview
TD Risk Management is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the organization to support the Bank's long-term success and protect our colleagues, customers, communities, and shareholders. As a Risk Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while gaining exposure to one of the following areas:
- Risk Management (Operational Risk, Governance, Controls, Enterprise Risk, Model Risk, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Process Risk, Data Risk, and related functions)
- Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) (AML/ATF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption, Customer Due Diligence, Enterprise Risk Assessment)
- Compliance (Regulatory Compliance Management, Compliance Oversight, Transformation, Governance, and Control Functions)
Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, participate in real business initiatives, develop critical skills, and build a strong network across TD while contributing to a culture of care, inclusion, innovation, and collaboration.
Job Description
As a Risk Management Intern, you will support business and risk partners in delivering effective risk management, governance, compliance, and control activities across the organization. Assignments will vary based on team placement but may include:
- Supporting risk, compliance, governance, and control activities.
- Conducting research, analysis, and reporting on emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
- Assisting with the development of presentations, dashboards, management reporting, and executive materials.
- Reviewing and analyzing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Supporting projects related to business programming, strategy, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, policy implementation, and control effectiveness.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across business lines and corporate functions.
- Contributing to data analysis, documentation, process mapping, and reporting initiatives.
- Assisting with the preparation of recommendations and insights for leadership decision-making.
- Participating fully as a member of the team while fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

Education & Experience
- Applicant must have current or prior TD internship experience.
- In the process of obtaining an Undergraduate degree.
- Returning to school after the work term.
- Demonstrated interest in Risk Management, Financial Crime Risk Management, Compliance, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Law, Economics, or related disciplines is considered an asset.
