Description
Our Corporate Services Department is looking for a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to support daily front office operations. This part-time, non-exempt position is fully on-site at our Brentwood corporate office. The position is expected to work 20 to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

General Function
Provides front desk reception and administrative support while creating a welcoming, secure, and professional environment for visitors, policyholders, and employees.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Greet visitors with quality service, meeting or exceeding established service standards.
- Handle or appropriately transfer all communications, such as incoming calls, faxes, and emails.
- Responsible for first impression to all visitors, such as Board of Directors, policyholders, visitors, vendors, and employees.
- Must maintain professional appearance and conduct in line with SVMIC’s established standards.
- Quickly learn the purpose and interconnectivity of all SVMIC departments to competently respond to communications, such as incoming calls, faxes, and emails.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining office security.
- Maintain active listening and courteous phone etiquette.
- Perform general Corporate Services administrative duties as needed with attention to detail, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
- May assist or support other departments administratively with Director of Corporate Services approval.
- Ensure guests follow appropriate security procedures.
- Sign for deliveries and notify recipients.
- When needed, ensure certified letters and certificates of mailing are recorded properly.
- From the front desk, may provide administration support for employee perks, fundraising tasks, and company events (e.g.: tracking participation and collecting donations).
- Follow procedures and processes regarding building maintenance complaints as instructed.
- Meet established performance standards for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
- Contribute to SVMIC’s success by identifying opportunities and making recommendations that may lead to improved processes.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required. This position operates fully on-site. Specific scheduling and on-site expectations are determined by business needs and job responsibilities.
- May complete other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and recognize when and how to effectively collaborate with others.
- Good keyboarding skills and proficient with Microsoft Suite of Products including Outlook, Word and Excel and able to gain proficiency quickly with other software programs.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintain professional and personable phone etiquette while employing active listening skills.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience;
- Associate degree or above and at least 1 year of relevant professional experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and utilize a computer for significant periods of time. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
