Description
We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Finance strategically partners with operations to drive outstanding business results and enhance Ford’s industry leadership. When you join us, you’ll be able to contribute financial expertise that impacts all areas of our company, including planning, manufacturing, marketing and global distribution.
In this position...
In an industry facing remarkable uncertainty, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) helps Ford anticipate what's next instead of just reacting to it. You'll partner directly with Ford's executive team and Board of Directors to identify, prioritize, and mitigate the risks that matter most, turning insight into action that protects and creates value across the company. Our mission is to make Ford a more resilient, anticipatory organization — one that spots disruption before it hits and moves with confidence through it. Join us and help build a culture where risk mitigation isn't a checkbox, it's a mindset everyone at Ford shares.
Build something, don't just maintain it - This isn't a role where you inherit a fully-baked process and keep the lights on. You'll help mature Enterprise Risk Management within a company that's over a century old — building the capability for risk treatment across the entire organization and leaving your fingerprint on how Ford thinks about risk for years to come.
Real ownership, real autonomy - You'll join a small, nimble team where creative problem-solving isn't a nice-to-have. It is the job. If you're the kind of person who takes an idea and runs with it, you'll get true ownership over parts of the program, with the freedom to self-direct and the trust to make it yours.
Influence that reaches the top - Your work won't stay buried in a spreadsheet, it will directly shape the risk conversations that reach Ford's executive leadership team and Board of Directors. You'll partner closely with senior leaders across the company day to day, with regular opportunities to step into the room yourself, sharpening the executive presence you already bring to the table.
What you'll do...
- Stay ahead of the curve by engaging with industry groups, forums, and leading practices in risk frameworks, governance, and reporting, then bring those ideas back to Ford.
- Identify and prioritize Ford's top enterprise risks, ensuring risk owners develop clear, actionable mitigation plans that leadership can act on
- Partner with risk owners and senior leaders across the business to build and strengthen risk mitigation plans, translating deep domain expertise into practical, cross-functional solutions.
- Prepare and deliver risk reporting and insights for executive leadership and the Board of Directors, helping shape how Ford's most critical decisions get made.
- Help embed a culture of risk mitigation across the enterprise — coaching, training, and influencing teams so that thinking about risk becomes second nature, not an afterthought.
You'll have...
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven record of strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrated experience establishing regular and collaborative engagement across the organization
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and in a role where differing points of view are common, including between yourself and more senior members of the organization
Even better, you may have...
- Risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment
- Master's degree
- Concentration in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Professional Risk Management certifications
- Experience utilizing a GRC tool for ERM
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
