Position Summary
Basic Function
Performs at a level of a certified electrical/electronics technician. Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots electrical devices, wiring, equipment and incoming services including single to three phase components. Will also be required to perform maintenance duties in other related areas of plumbing, carpentry and general services. Will be in an on call status with other personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to work alone and know when to schedule assistance.
- Electronic troubleshooting
- Wiring and conduit sizing, grounding, proper safety practice per national electric code.
- Use of voltmeters, Ohmmeters, circuit finders and millivolts to troubleshoot and locate electrical problems to make corrections.
- Read blueprints, make recommendations for electrical systems and to assist in layout planning to ensure the systems are operating at an efficient energy saving level.
- Have ability to lift 50 pounds, use ladders, hot and cold areas, crawl spaces and roof surfaces.
- Includes general maintenance on assigned golf cart, maintain tool safety and responsibility.
- Ability to stoop, stand, crawl, lift, listen, plan, schedule and organize to maintain timely efficiency.
- Maintain daily work sheet of time that reflects work orders, maintain timely work order completion, and maintain monthly time sheets.
- May require overtime.
Experience
- Two years experience in a trade school or equivalent experience at job training
- Must be certified electrician in North Carolina
- Knowledge of switchgear, transfer switches, phases, wiring schematics, electronic troubleshooting
- Wiring, proper safety practice per national electric code
- Proven use of voltmeters, Ohmmeters, circuit finders and millivolts.
- Experience to see a connection with chillers and boilers from an operational view in troubleshooting and to maintain operation with no down time.
