HEAD OF PROCESS INTELLIGENCE

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL  

The Head of Process Intelligence is responsible for establishing and leading the organization’s enterprise process intelligence capability, leveraging SAP Signavio Process Intelligence, process mining, business process analytics, and enterprise data to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, automation, and transformation.

This role combines process management, data analytics, process mining, SAP S/4HANA knowledge, and business transformation to provide fact-based visibility into how business processes actually operate.

The Head of Process Intelligence will establish a Process Excellence Center of Excellence and  will partner closely with business process owners, IT, data and analytics teams, and executive leadership to identify performance gaps, quantify improvement opportunities, and translate process insights into measurable business outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!) 

Process Intelligence Strategy

• Develop and execute the enterprise process intelligence strategy.
• Establish process mining and process analytics as core capabilities within the Process Excellence CoE.
• Define the roadmap for SAP Signavio Process Intelligence and related analytics capabilities.
• Establish standards for process discovery, process mining, conformance analysis, root-cause analysis, and process performance measurement.
• Identify high-value processes and prioritize them for analytics and continuous improvement.

Business Process Management

• Develop and maintain the enterprise process architecture and process hierarchy.
• Establish and maintain L0–L4 process models and process relationships.
• Define process ownership, accountability, and governance.
• Ensure processes are documented consistently using enterprise BPM standards.
• Identify process dependencies and cross-functional impacts.
• Maintain the enterprise process repository within SAP Signavio.

Signavio Process Modeling

• Develop and maintain business process models using SAP Signavio Process Manager.
• Facilitate process discovery and documentation workshops with business stakeholders.
• Document current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) processes.
• Apply modeling standards, naming conventions, process attributes, and governance rules.
• Ensure process models are understandable to both business and technical stakeholders.
• Establish reusable process components and standardized process patterns.

Process Mining & Analytics

• Lead the development of process-mining analyses using SAP Signavio Process Intelligence.
• Analyze actual process execution using SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise-system data.
• Identify bottlenecks, process deviations, rework, delays, automation opportunities, and unnecessary process variants.
• Perform conformance checking between designed processes and actual execution.
• Develop process-performance models and analytical methodologies.
• Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.

Process Performance Management

• Establish enterprise process KPIs and measurement frameworks.
• Develop dashboards and analytical views that provide visibility into end-to-end process performance.
• Establish process baselines and measure improvements over time.
• Monitor cycle time, throughput, first-time-right performance, rework, exceptions, compliance, and other relevant metrics.
• Develop executive-level reporting on process performance and improvement opportunities.

SAP S/4HANA & Enterprise Data

• Partner with SAP functional teams to understand the underlying transactional data supporting business processes.
• Develop analytical models using SAP S/4HANA data and related enterprise systems.
• Understand relationships between business processes, transactions, master data, and organizational structures.
• Support extraction and preparation of event-log data required for process mining.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality where data limitations affect process analysis.
• Translate SAP transactional data into meaningful business-process insights.

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Partner with Process Owners to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
• Quantify the financial and operational impact of process issues.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, automation, and business-transformation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization and simplification.
• Identify opportunities for workflow automation and intelligent automation.
• Support SAP S/4HANA transformation and optimization initiatives.
• Measure whether transformation initiatives achieve their intended business outcomes.

Executive & Business Partnership

• Present process intelligence findings to senior executives and business leaders.
• Develop compelling, data-driven business cases for process improvement.
• Facilitate executive and cross-functional process-performance reviews.
• Establish a culture of fact-based process management.
• Work closely with Business Process Owners to establish accountability for process performance.

Center of Excellence Leadership

• Establish and maintain process intelligence methodologies, standards, and best practices.
• Develop the organization’s process-mining and analytics competency.
• Mentor Senior Business Process Analysts and Process Analytics Analysts.
• Establish reusable analytical models and accelerators.
• Govern the quality and consistency of process intelligence solutions.
• Build a community of practice around process analytics and continuous improvement.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

Education

Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Business

Experience

• 8–12+ years of experience in business process management, process transformation, analytics, consulting, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise business processes.
• Demonstrated experience with process mining or advanced process analytics.
• Experience working with complex ERP environments.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA strongly preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional transformation or process-improvement initiatives.
