Production Floor Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Lead the Team. Drive Production. Stay Hands-On.
Openwork is seeking an experienced Production Floor Supervisor for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Northeast Houston. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is comfortable working on the production floor, leading by example, solving problems, and keeping operations moving.
You'll oversee approximately 10 employees while helping maintain productivity, quality, safety, attendance, and accountability throughout the shift.

Location: Northeast Houston, TX 77028
Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience | Weekly Pay
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM–1:30 AM, or until production is complete
Schedule: Monday–Saturday
Overtime: Significant overtime based on production needs.
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

What You'll Take Ownership Of:
- Lead daily second-shift production operations and assign work.
- Supervise, coach, train, and support approximately 10 employees.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, attendance, and employee performance.
- Keep production on schedule while meeting quality and customer requirements.
- Work alongside the team to measure, stage, move, and inspect materials.
- Assist with moving and handling heavy materials when needed.
- Review work orders, drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
- Verify product measurements, tolerances, and overall quality.
- Address production delays, material issues, bottlenecks, and quality concerns.
- Set clear expectations and reinforce performance and accountability standards.
- Enforce PPE, housekeeping, equipment safety, and safe work practices.
- Communicate production progress, priorities, and concerns to management.
The Experience You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, metal shop, job shop, construction, or similar experience.
- 2+ years of lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
- Experience using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- Ability to convert decimals to fractions.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and production practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and reinforce performance expectations.
- Reliable and consistent attendance.
- Trade school or technical manufacturing training is a plus.
Schedule & Work Environment: This role requires a leader who is comfortable with the demands of an active manufacturing environment.
- 2:00 PM–1:30 AM, or until production is complete.
- Saturday work required based on production needs.
- Significant overtime should be expected.
- Hands-on production-floor involvement throughout the shift.
- Ability to remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally move or handle heavy materials.
- Required PPE and respirator use.
- Fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
