POSITION PURPOSE:         

Supports the Patient Care Team by providing or assisting in activities
associated with the sanitation, disinfecting and maintenance of cleanliness in all areas of the Medical Center and clinics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Thoroughly cleans patient care, office, ancillary, and general use areas as assigned.  Responds to urgent cleaning needs as observed or reported.
• Maintains adequate cleaning supplies and replenishes supplies (such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) for position assignment. 
• Safely and properly operates electric vacuum cleaners, and carpet spotting extractors as assigned.  Assists in maintaining any and all cleaning equipment and reports any repairs needed.
• Removes all trash and potentially infectious medical waste (PIMW) in a timely and safe manner       ensuring proper disposal procedures are used. 
• Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required.  This includes, but is not limited to, room set-ups, curtain changes, and distribution of cleaning supplies to cleaning closets and store rooms.
• Identifies mechanical deficiencies throughout the facility and reports them to POM for correction.
• Identifies floor maintenance requirements and reports them to the Environmental Services Manager / Shift Leader for correction.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

Compensation Range

$16.25 - $24.38
