Base Salary HEO 10 (38 hours) $176,461 p.a. + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As part of the School of Veterinary Science which is ranked #1 in Australia, the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney (UVTHS) provides a clinical learning experience for veterinary students with staff engaged in professional training programs through provision of veterinary services to the public.
We are currently seeking a Hospital Manager to play a critical role in the operational management of the hospital for the period of parental leave cover and to contribute to the development and implementation of hospital strategy. Together with the Director of Vet Operations, the role oversees the execution of services which provide clinical teaching, research and business activities in a competitive veterinary market.

In the position you will be
providing operational leadership and contributing to the development of the hospital's strategy
managing the development of business plans for the delivery of services for the hospital and ensuring the effective implementation of new initiatives
the critical point of contact with oversight of WH&S and operational requirements across the span of each week for the Hospital
overseeing the continuous improvement of processes to support efficient and effective hospital operations
responsible for the functional leadership and management of professional support staff in hospital. Manage the responsibilities of their workload, safety, mentoring, training, performance reviews and staff development
managing building and space allocation and all local infrastructure upgrade and redevelopment and equipment projects
managing risks and workplace health and safety for the hospital that might impact staff welfare and the efficient and effective operation of the Hospital services and the teaching program
working with senior leaders to manage the efficient utilisation and deployment of resources for the hospital in line with the broader School strategy
contributing to the development and design of the hospital's external engagement strategy.
