What is the opportunity?

Join our HQLA team to manage and optimize approximately $100 billion in liquid assets across multiple jurisdictions. This role balances day-to-day portfolio execution with strategic focus on USD and cross-currency investment opportunities, hedging strategies, and profitability optimization. You'll combine robust reporting with market expertise to build ideal portfolio models while managing capital, liquidity, tax, and enterprise balance sheet value within Risk and Treasury constraints. This role will lean itself to a candidate who love to impart market knowledge into algorithms and iteratively build the ideal portfolio.

What will you do?

  • Execute trades to purchase USD HQLA 1/2A
  • Execute trades to purchase and hedge currency risk of non CAD/USD HQLA 1/2A
  • Executing derivative duration hedging compliant with hedge accounting standards
  • Be lead subject matter expert on cross currency investment opportunities (both currency and foreign markets) including training of junior staff
  • Work with the Markets’ data analytics and reporting team to tell the story of the portfolio, work on the ideal portfolio given the environmental binding constraints, and build real life limitations into ideal model portfolios
  • Work with our Product Control and Performance Management team to have reporting of the portfolio performance relative to the Work with our various Risk Teams to ensure sufficient limits including (but not limited to) Single Name Exposure, Counterparty Credit, Key Rate Duration.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Professional designation (CFA, CPA, or equivalent) and university degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 7+ years' front office experience in cross-currency relative value, interest rate hedging, and secured funding
  • Institutional-level HQLA asset experience with focus on relative value
  • Proven ability to make buy/sell recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Expertise in hedge accounting, bank capital management, and liquidity management
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly across varied stakeholder groups

Nice-to-have:

  • IFRS and US GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Familiarity with Volcker Rule, Regulation W, and bank compliance
  • Performance management and management accounting experience
