Physician - Pediatric Nocturnist

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS) Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Nocturnist to join its team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to care for hospitalized pediatric patients in a collaborative, academic environment while working alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The Pediatric Nocturnist will provide inpatient care, respond to acute clinical needs, and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to ensure high-quality care and positive outcomes for patients and their families. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the physician will play an active role in the education and mentorship of pediatric residents, medical students and fellows and will have opportunities to participate in departmental and divisional academic, quality improvement and scholarly activities. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in pediatric inpatient medicine, education and teamwork.

Job Duties Outlined:

• Provide expert, patient-centered care for hospitalized patients at TUKHS main campus
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized care plans for Pediatric patients
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support ongoing clinical, educational and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in inpatient Pediatric care and related areas
• Participate in departmental, division and institutional meetings, seminars and committees
• Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing professional development
• Engage in scholarly activities, research and quality improvement initiatives aligned with the Department's mission

Required Qualifications:

• MD/DO or equivalent
• Board eligible (BE)/Board Certified (BC) in Pediatrics
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Kansas
