The Opportunity
A well-established multi-site manufacturer is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its Brits plant.

- Support the engineering and production teams with daily plant operations.
- Assist with preventative maintenance, mechanical reliability and downtime-reduction initiatives.
- Investigate equipment and process issues, assist with root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous-improvement projects focused on productivity, waste reduction, quality, cost and safety.
- Assist with plant modifications, installation projects, equipment upgrades and technical documentation.
- Compile technical reports, maintenance records, project updates and performance information.
- Work with production, maintenance, quality and external service providers to resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to plant safety, housekeeping and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree, diploma or advanced diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

- A genuine interest in a hands-on manufacturing and plant environment.
- Sound mechanical aptitude and structured problem-solving ability.

- Basic understanding of preventative maintenance, technical drawings and mechanical systems.
- Good Microsoft Excel and reporting ability; exposure to CAD or maintenance systems will be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, initiative and a willingness to learn from experienced plant personnel.
- Reliable transport and the ability to commute to Brits.
Candidate Profile
This role will suit an energetic, technically curious engineer who is comfortable on the plant floor, asks intelligent questions and wants to develop into a well-rounded manufacturing engineering professional.
The company is looking for potential, discipline and a strong learning mindset - not someone expecting to sit behind a desk and manage from a distance.
