Job Summary

HP is seeking an experienced Software Product Manager to help define, develop, and deliver software experiences that power hybrid work. This role is responsible for shaping and executing software product experiences spanning cloud services, desktop applications, mobile applications, and device management experiences.

As a Software Product Manager, you will serve as the bridge between customers, engineering teams, business stakeholders, and go-to-market organizations. You will identify customer problems, translate market and stakeholder needs into actionable product requirements, and work closely with development teams to deliver solutions that create measurable customer and business value.

This role balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Success requires strong product judgment, technical fluency, customer empathy, and the ability to lead through influence across a complex cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Product Experience & Roadmap Ownership

• Define and maintain product experience direction, roadmap inputs, and execution plans for a portfolio of software products and platform capabilities.
• Identify customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive trends to inform product direction.
• Translate business objectives into clear software experience priorities and product plans.
• Develop business cases, prioritization frameworks, and success metrics for product initiatives.
• Drive alignment across stakeholders on roadmap priorities, software experience outcomes, and delivery expectations.

Product Experience Development

• Lead the product lifecycle from concept through development, release, and sustainment.
• Partner with engineering, UX, and architecture teams to define product requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Translate customer and stakeholder needs into executable user stories and product requirements.
• Prioritize product backlogs and guide release planning activities.
• Monitor delivery progress and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.

Customer & Market Focus

• Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
• Gather customer feedback through direct engagement, analytics, support insights, and market research.
• Evaluate industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, product adoption, and business value.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate closely with engineering, support, operations, quality, UX, marketing, sales, and business leaders.
• Drive decision-making across organizations by providing clear product direction and prioritization.
• Build alignment around product goals, requirements, and delivery plans.
• Influence stakeholders without direct authority to achieve desired outcomes.

Operational Excellence

• Define and monitor product KPIs and success metrics.
• Use customer feedback, usage analytics, operational performance, and support data to drive improvements.
• Establish processes that improve predictability, quality, and efficiency of product delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement across product planning and execution activities.

Communication & Enablement

• Communicate software priorities, roadmap direction, and delivery status to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Develop and maintain product documentation, requirements, and release communications.
• Support launch readiness, training, and adoption efforts.
• Serve as a product evangelist across the organization.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software product management, technical product management, or related roles.
• Experience driving software products through the full lifecycle from concept to release.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a complex organizational environment.

Preferred

• Experience with cloud services, SaaS platforms, desktop applications, mobile applications, or device management solutions.
• Experience working with enterprise software customers.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience leveraging analytics and customer insights to drive product decisions.
• Understanding of hybrid work, collaboration technologies, or device ecosystems.

The pay range for this role is $116,150 to $182,400 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
