Trainee Commercial Cost Accountant

Overview

Job Purpose

 

The Trainee Commercial Cost Accountant is responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate cost analysis while partnering with finance, commercial and operations teams. This role develops knowledge of and supports, site accounting, business category and cost accounting with commercial and operational insights.

 

The role reports into and supports the Retail Commercial Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Performance Analysis Support

 

• Weekly & Monthly maintenance of customer trading accounts
• Maintenance of customer pricing model files
• Maintenance of inter-divisional pricing models
• Support the analysis and review of each sites weekly & monthly performance
• Support financial insight across all cost areas to support operational cost control and analysis
• Support new product queries and costing
• Support the maintenance of internal standard accounting standards
• Contribute to the use and development of management information
• Support the Annual Retail Budget review and periodic Forecasting processes
• Support tender processes as necessary

Qualifications

Requirement Experience & Qualifications

 

• Knowledge of manufacturing environments
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with ERP/ financial systems
• Good communication skills to effectively articulate the required message
