Job Summary
To, under the direction of the dispatch center and with oversight by Fleet Management, provide Superior Battery Service and Light Service to AAA members.
Job Duties
- Safely and Efficiently provide Battery replacement/jump starts, Lock out, out of fuel, Tire changes and/or repair and other minor light repair services to AAA members as directed by the Dispatch and Fleet Management Team, while adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the AAA Northern New England Employee Handbook and the Fleet Operations Manual.
- Ensure the assigned equipment (vehicle and all associated equipment) is available and in good working order as required by the Fleet Operation Manual and/or the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.
- Ensure that the exterior and interior appearance of the assigned vehicle is clean /organized and presents a professional image to our members.
- Assist in maintaining the Fleet Facility by performing general housekeeping duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High School GED
- 4-6 years Automotive maintenance and repair
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, driver’s license and criminal background checks.
- Will be required to submit to a pre-employment D.O.T. physical that will be recurring at a minimum of every 2 years.
- Must be flexible as assignments and priorities frequently change with the changing needs of our members.
- Must be able to accurately complete the daily paperwork associated with the position including cash transactions.
- Must have or acquire the ability to read and understand street and road maps.
- Must have or acquire a basic understanding of the major systems in a modern automobile with an emphasis on basic electrical (starting/charging) and basic mechanical (Engine/Drive train/Chasse and Suspension).
- Must have the confidence to recognize and capitalize on opportunities to sell and install AAA branded automotive batteries.
- Must have or acquire a working knowledge of towing and recovery equipment and lock out tools.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel to off-site business meetings or conferences. (5% proficiency)
