Inside the Role

Support the Small Business Credit Strategy by reviewing, analyzing, and implementing best practices specific to credit buying. Support analysts in building profitable annual acquisitions by improving & increasing book to approval and cashing percentages. Work with sales, remarketing and dealers to help minimize losses. Lead, develop and train small business credit analysts to ensure consistent buying practices. Collaborate closely with other Regional Credit Managers in Small Business as well as other departments to ensure Customer. One focus when resolving all dealer or customer issues. Provide insight and expertise regarding credit processes and decisions in collaboration with Daimler Truck North America and Daimler Truck Financial Services sales teams to ensure strategic growth in all segments. This position will also be assisting with the Canadian portfolio and applications and providing guidance/feedback to the North American Service Center (NASC) in Mexico.

What You Drive at DTFS

  • Review credit policies and procedures for efficiencies for the Small Business Credit department. Assist with communicating the credit risk strategies to direct reports to ensure adherence to local and global credit rules. Take action on internal and external audit exceptions.
  • Provide KPI monthly reports for analysis of portfolio performance related to delinquency, repossessions, volume, RoRac, and credit quality in order to make adjustments to meet goals. Attend monthly meetings in regards to portfolio performance and pricing. Work with Small Business Credit Manager on overall credit strategies.
  • Provide superior levels of service to DTFS dealer body. Handle escalated dealer calls. Provide support and maintain working relationships with field personnel. Travel and present as needed to assigned regions to support dealer groups. 
  • Work with Collections and Remarketing to review post mortem and losses.  Identify trends in the portfolio performance, looking at all risk aspects. Based on Business Cycle Management activities, be prepared to quickly identify and react to any downturn in economy and how it might impact current portfolio.
  • Attend monthly meetings in regards to portfolio performance and pricing.  Work with Small Business Credit Manager and DTFS Sales team on overall credit strategies.
  • Review credit deals up to $1,000,000 that are outside Limits of Authority for Analyst and/or Senior Analyst. 
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to analysts daily. Train members on skills and knowledge needed to be successful in job position. Responsible for scheduling team for proper levels of service while focusing on allowing work-life balance, including hybrid working schedule.

 

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Automotive or Commercial Finance.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in French.
  • Minimum of 2 years coaching, mentoring, and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and interpret complex information.

 

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

  • Experience managing dealer relationships and acting as the key connection between dealership finance departments and the lender’s credit team.
  • Operations experience specifically in financial services environment.
  • 3 years automotive retail or commercial equipment credit experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in collections and/or customer service.
  • Sales experience.
  • Familiarity with the following systems: eCreditPro; ACE; Cognos; Tableau
  • Experience in the following competencies: Continuous Quality Performance/Improvement, Customer Focus, Developing Talent, Influencing Decisions, Relationship Building, and Strategic Alignment.
