General Requirements:

• Provide friendly, professional customer service and maintain positive interactions with the public, staff, and customers.
• Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, answering questions, and providing requested information and materials.
• Sell hunting and fishing licenses and shooting complex memberships and assist customers with related questions.
• Communicate information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
• Type accurately and efficiently and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents.
• Review and comprehend written materials, policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Gather, compare, organize, and summarize data from a variety of sources.
• Ability to operate a computer and effectively use associated software applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Apply proper business English, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages, and review work for accuracy.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, volunteers, and the general public.
• Learn and follow department rules, procedures, and functions.
• Be willing to learn about shooting sports, range operations, and the customers served by the facility.

Helpful, but not required:

• General knowledge of South Dakota's outdoors, including hunting, fishing, boating, and state parks.
• General knowledge of common hunting firearms and shooting sports.

Other Information :

• This position will work mostly weekend (Saturday & Sunday) from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Work location will be at the Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sport Complex (14514 Bill Janklow Road Piedmont, SD 57769).
