The Field Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing post‑implementation support of Cytiva automation solutions. This hands-on technical role involves working with Emerson Delta V DCS, and some extended support on Siemens PLC/SCADA, and AVEVA Wonderware Application Server, covering system implementation, troubleshooting, controlled changes, and lifecycle management in compliance with regulated industry standards.
This position reports to the Zone Service Manager, ASEAN and is part of the Equipment Services Team located in Singapore and will be fully remote covering 80% ASEAN and 20% APAC as and when needed.
What you will do:
- Deliver installation and commissioning services for automation hardware and software solutions at customer sites
- Provide Level 2 automation service support for hardware install base and associated plant automation systems in active GMP manufacturing environments
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to control logic, batch processing, alarms, communication interfaces, and system performance. Configure & customize Delta V including phases, recipes, Control Modules (CMs), Equipment Modules (EMs), and operator display
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT / Automation or Electronics and Comm Engg with minimum 5 years of Practical, hands-on experience with Emerson Delta V DCS platforms
- Demonstrated experience supporting GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharma manufacturing systems
- Familiar with industrial system integration technologies such as OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, and ProfNet
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel –50% travel, overnight, within territory or locations
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Own incident handling, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Work closely with back office & customer to ensure systems remain compliant, reliable, and audit-ready
- Be single point of contact for automation queries to customers and internal stakeholders
