What you will be doing:

We have an exciting opportunity an enthusiastic, self-motivated leader to join the Trent XWB team as a Services Cost Officer – Policy.

With over 700 aircraft in service and a growing orderbook of aircraft, the Trent XWB Value Stream covers the full breadth of activity of those engines in service and provides a unique opportunity to develop business breadth across the lifecycle of an engine.

Reporting to the Cost Managers you will work on defining a robust cost strategy roadmap and policies, baseline cost assumptions for both existing and future business as well as evaluating the business impact of cost reduction proposals. These underpin the profitability of Trent XWB so they have a direct impact on our business performance.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for this role are to support the Service Cost Manager-Policy to deliver the following:

  • Supporting and helping to define the Cost strategy consistent with delivery of improved contract returns, business plan requirements and margin improvement objectives.
  • Support all areas of service cost, including forecasting of service cost, risk provisioning, and understanding the cost benefit from delivering repairs, limits and life extensions for the overhaul of engines. The role will also work closely with Services Business and Service Delivery to ensure consistency across Services.
  • Drive activities that feed into the Product Attributes Document (or equivalent), ensuring the inputs are robust, with clear action plans to reach the committed attributes where required.
  • Generation of a cost base for both engine types for financial reporting, which will include shop cost, services cost and time on wing inputs that feed into the Contract Review Pack process.
  • Support the Technical Risk Provision process which financially provisions for new and emerging risks outside of the Contract Review Packs.
  • Lead the delivery of service cost reduction initiatives for both Shop Visit Cost and Non-Shop Visit related cost. Once such initiatives are committed, ensure delivery of these commitments are in line with business expectations of both value and timing.

Preferred requirements:

  • Candidates should have a proven track record in delivering results in challenging environments and clear capability of influencing across functions as well as possessing keen analytical skills.
  • Highly analytical and able to interpret data and complete data modelling using Excel.
  • Understand key accounting principles (revenue, cash and profit).
  • Service delivery, product and customer knowledge.
  • Able to work under his/her own initiative.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a functional and cross functional team.
