Ideal candidate will play key role in advancing the Army’s legacy, modern, and future Electronic Countermeasure (ECM) capabilities at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Review technical information, intelligence reports, and industry advancements related to EOD operations, current and future threats, and RF/ECM systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and provide mitigation recommendations and strategies

  • Develop and test EW systems in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), over-the-air (OTA) Anechoic chamber, and OTA field test range environments.

  • Perform anechoic chamber and coaxial closed loop testing for Army Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) systems.

  • Support general anechoic chamber and coaxial testing for military ECM, communications, and other Radio Frequency (RF) systems.

  • Operate RF test equipment, setup test environment, and collect RF data in support of ECM performance and compatibility testing.

  • Support writing of test plans, test reports/results, and briefings on ECM performance and compatibility testing.

  • Attend field testing/field exercises for EOD and EWO personnel with informational briefings, field test demonstrations, and general onsite technical support for ECM

  • Support yearly Ravens Challenge interoperability exercise as EOD ECM subject matter expert by giving educational briefings and functioning as ECM SME during lanes training

  • Provide hands-on soldier engagement to include classroom briefings, live-fire demonstrations, and follow on support/access as a RCIED Subject Matter Expert (SME).

  • Direct engagement with EOD staff through briefings, one-on-one discussions, and email/phone communication.

  • Experience using hand-held and benchtop RF equipment including Vector Signal Generators, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Analyzers, Network Analyzers, and other equipment.

  • Perform standard RF measurements using the previous listed test equipment.

  • Ability to present material to an audience of soldiers.

  • Physical ability to present live-fire scenarios on a military range.

  • Being able to work well with a group of technical staff in potentially high-stress situations.

Desired:

  • Experience testing military ECM systems.

  • Experience operating and testing military communication systems.

  • Experience testing cellular devices with live or simulated networks.
