Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

If so, Thielen Student Health Center at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Certified Pharmacy Technician!
What You'll Do:
Assist patients with prescription drop-off and pickup while providing exceptional customer service.
Process and verify prescription information using pharmacy and electronic health record systems.
Support daily pharmacy operations, resolve patient access and insurance issues, and maintain accurate documentation.
Prepare, count, label, package, and verify prescriptions.
Monitor inventory, stock medications, manage expired or recalled products, and assist with medication ordering.
Receive and verify controlled substance shipments and assist with inventory audits.
Train and provide guidance to student pharmacy technicians, interns, and new staff.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, privacy requirements, and safety standards.
Identify workflow improvements and report safety or equipment concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Experience using pharmacy management software, preferably ProPharm.
Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, or guiding team members in a pharmacy setting.

Thielen Student Health Center (TSHC), located next to State Gym and Beyer Hall on campus, provides all of the same services that standard medical clinics can. Students can be seen for illness or injuries, have tests done, receive immunizations, get a physical or check-up, have their prescriptions filled, receive physical therapy, and more.
