Drive business development and originate high-quality opportunities through proactive engagement with fund clients and key industry stakeholders - Play a leading role as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio, ensuring the delivery of the bank's capabilities in line with client needs and strategic objectives
- Represent the bank in the market, strengthening our profile within the funds industry and developing long-term relationships across the sector

What you'll do
As a Funds Coverage Relationship Director, you'll lead strategic client engagement across a portfolio of fund clients, acting as a trusted adviser and primary relationship owner throughout the client lifecycle. You'll develop and maintain senior-level relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and coordinate the delivery of tailored banking solutions that support client objectives.
You'll work closely with specialist product teams to originate lending, treasury, and operational banking opportunities while ensuring clients receive a seamless and consistent experience across all touchpoints. You'll also contribute valuable market insight, helping to identify emerging opportunities and trends within the funds sector.
Moreover, you'll enhance the customer experience by providing a consistent and seamless service journey in collaboration with internal teams. Through close liaison with service providers and product specialists, you'll deliver an excellent customer experience throughout the sales and service journey, ensuring clients receive coordinated and effective support.
In addition, you’ll be:
- Leading strategic client planning and delivering tailored banking solutions aligned to client needs and commercial objectives
- Identifying and originating new lending, treasury, and operational banking opportunities across the funds sector
- Negotiating Heads of Terms, preparing credit submissions, and client proposals to support business growth and effective client delivery
- Collaborating across teams to develop and deliver innovative, scalable solutions that anticipate evolving client needs
- Shaping customer segment strategy through insights into client needs and expectations, aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and commercial capabilities
- Maintaining high standards of risk management across all client and commercial activities
- Representing the business at industry events, where appropriate, to enhance the bank's profile and identify opportunities for growth and innovation
The skills you'll need
We're looking for a strategic originator with deep expertise in banking products, funding solutions, and the funds sector. You'll bring a proven track record of building senior stakeholder relationships, driving business growth, and working collaboratively to deliver successful outcomes for clients and the bank.
You'll also demonstrate strong commercial awareness, sound risk judgement, and well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills gained within a client-facing environment.
In addition, you’ll need:
- Significant experience within institutional banking, fund finance, corporate banking, or the wider financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of investment funds, fund structures, and fund-related banking solutions
- Proven ability to build, manage, and influence senior stakeholder relationships across clients and wider industry networks
- Strong commercial awareness combined with a practical understanding and application of risk management disciplines
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within a fast-paced environment
- Experience preparing and presenting credit submissions, client proposals, and commercial recommendations
- The ability to identify emerging market opportunities and use industry insight to drive client and business growth
- Recognition as a trusted adviser within the funds industry, supported by strong relationship management and business development capabilities
