Tax Marketing Manager
Location: Irvine, CA | On-site || Department: Marketing || Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview
You will own end-to-end paid search strategy and execution across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. Your primary focus is driving qualified leads and pipeline at efficient CAC/CPA while continuously improving conversion rates and lead quality. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role with clear business targets and significant impact on revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage paid search campaigns on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (Search, Performance Max, and related formats)
- Conduct ongoing keyword research, query mining, negative keyword strategy, and account structure optimization
- Develop and test ad copy (RSAs), audience strategies, and bidding approaches to improve CTR, CVR, Quality Score, and ROAS/CPA
- Manage daily/weekly budget pacing, bid adjustments, and performance optimization against lead volume, cost-per-lead, and quality targets
- Analyze campaign performance, diagnose issues (tracking, creative fatigue, landing page conversion, auction dynamics), and implement rapid improvements
- Partner closely with Marketing, Creative/CRO, Analytics, Sales, and RevOps teams on landing page testing, attribution, and lead quality feedback loops
- Build clear performance reports and communicate insights, trends, and recommended actions to stakeholders
- Stay current on platform changes, best practices, and competitive landscape in the tax/financial services vertical
- Maintain accurate tracking, conversion setup, and reporting hygiene (GA4, GTM, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on paid search / PPC experience with meaningful budget ownership
- Proven track record of scaling lead volume while improving or maintaining CPA/CAC and lead quality
- Deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (account structure, match types, negatives, bidding strategies, audience layering, RSA testing)
- Strong analytical skills with experience using GA4, Google Tag Manager, and performance dashboards
- Experience working in lead-generation or high-ticket service businesses tax, legal, financial services, home services, or similar preferred
- Excellent communication skills ability to translate data into clear recommendations and collaborate cross-functionally
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and clear targets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the tax resolution, debt relief, or financial services industry
- Familiarity with Performance Max, value-based bidding, and offline conversion import
- Background in conversion rate optimization (landing pages and forms)
- Experience managing larger monthly ad spends and multi-campaign/account environments

Pay Transparency Statement - The expected compensation range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000 per year. This represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation range that Tax Relief Advocates reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of hire.
