Your Role

As an AI Engineer, you turn the latest advances in AI into scalable, production-grade solutions that deliver real business impact. You work at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and cloud architecture, building the systems that take AI from promising prototype to reliable, operating service.

You don't just make models work in a notebook; you make them work in production, at scale, and responsibly. From data pipelines and model deployment to monitoring and continuous improvement, you own the engineering that makes AI dependable.

Generative and Agentic AI are central to the role. You build LLM-powered applications such as RAG systems, agents, and orchestration pipelines, and put in place the evaluation, guardrails, and observability needed to run them safely in the real world.

Key Responsibilities

• Building Production AI: Design, develop, deploy, and operate high-quality AI/ML solutions across industries, owning the full lifecycle from inception through production and operations.
• Delivering GenAI & Agentic Solutions: Build LLM-powered applications such as RAG pipelines, agents, and multi-step orchestration, and implement robust evaluation, guardrails, and quality measures to make them trustworthy in production.
• Engineering Scalable Pipelines: Build cloud-native ML pipelines and APIs (e.g. FastAPI, Flask) with CI/CD for reproducibility and speed, working with streaming data, vector databases, and unstructured data to enable real-time AI services.
• Applying MLOps & LLMOps: Implement model registries, experiment tracking, drift detection, prompt/version management, and automated retraining so solutions stay reliable as data and usage evolve.
• Ensuring Observability & Reliability: Put in place logging, monitoring, A/B testing, and health checks, ensuring fault tolerance, performance, and cost-efficiency under real-world load.
• Embedding Responsible AI: Build security, privacy, and responsible-AI practices into solutions from the start, so what you ship is safe, compliant, and ready for scrutiny.
• Shaping Solutions & Mentoring: Contribute to solution design and technology strategy, support multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and help advance AI engineering best practices within the Data & AI community.

Your Background

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years building and deploying AI/ML solutions in production, ideally in a project-based or consulting environment.
• Strong Software Engineering: Strong Python skills (async/await, OOP, PEP8) and related ML/data libraries, with a solid grounding in software engineering and DevSecOps practices.
• GenAI Engineering: Hands-on experience building LLM applications (RAG, agents, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex), with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of GenAI systems.
• MLOps Proficiency: Experience with Git, CI/CD, and MLOps practices (registries, metrics, drift detection, experiment tracking, deployment patterns).
• Cloud & Platforms: Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including networking, security, storage, monitoring, scaling, and HA/DR, and familiarity with AI/ML platforms such as SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, OpenAI, and vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate).
• Containers & Orchestration: Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, serverless).
• Track Record: Experience building PoCs for rapid learning, and a proven track record of delivering AI/ML services in production for large-scale end-user adoption.
• Languages & Certification: Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a strong plus. Cloud ML or AI engineering certification is a plus.
• Consultancy DNA: A genuine consulting mindset is essential. You are comfortable working across different clients and contexts, adapt quickly to new environments, build trusted relationships, and represent Accenture with professionalism and drive.
