2026-2027 NFWS Student Worker, University Communications - Social Media Ambassador

The Social Media Student Ambassador works directly with the Director of External Communications and Social Media, the Communications Manager, and other team members to generate excitement, pride, and awareness about Saint Leo University across the university's social media channels. This role requires attending weekly planning meetings, covering campus events, and creating content on deadline. The ideal candidate is professional, charismatic, comfortable on camera, collaborative, and receptive to direction.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

· Create content for university social media channels (primarily Instagram Reels and Stories) as a host, interviewer, and videographer for events and planned projects.

· Attend campus events during the week, evenings, and weekends as assigned.

· Capture and edit all content using a personal smartphone.

· Maintain punctuality and professionalism at all events and during office hours.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

· Experience creating and editing video content for social media.

· Strong working knowledge of Instagram, including Reels, Stories, and Instagram Business tools.

· Enthusiastic about Saint Leo University and eager to represent it to a public audience.

· Professional demeanor; comfortable on camera and conducting interviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience managing a professional or organizational social media account.

· Background in marketing and/or customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

· A strong understanding of the Instagram platform, editing features, and Instagram business platform.

· Experience speaking on camera.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Applicants will be contacted by the Office of University Communications to submit a short video sample and complete an interview.

Physical Demands:

May require some lifting, up to 25 pounds. Ability to attend/conduct video shoots on campus during the week, evenings, and weekends depending on schedules.
