What you’ll do
• Programming and Production:Ensure day-to-day programming of CNC machines including new parts, projects, and cost per component initiatives. Develop and improve machining methods and set up sheets to optimize production efficiency. Assist machinists with troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Quality Assurance:Maintain built-in quality and standards within the machine shop by programming and set ups with error-proofing in mind. Investigate quality issues and implement improvements to enhance machine shop quality and on-time delivery.
• Lean Manufacturing and Cost Reduction:Support lean management initiatives by reviewing tooling usage and collaborating with tooling suppliers to achieve the best cost per component. Optimize programs to improve equipment effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Industrialization and Innovation:Lead industrialization of new parts and involvement in smart manufacturing initiatives. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the machine shop to reduce delays and improve overall performance.
• Safety First:Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. Maintain safety of all systems and processes, follow health and environmental procedures, and ensure safe handling of materials.
• Travel Requirements:Minimal travel expected; primarily onsite presence required to support machine shop operations and supplier collaboration.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
• 3-5 years CNC programming experience on Fanuc and Mazatrol, including up to 5 axis programming
• Experience with horizontal and vertical CNC boring mill machines and CNC lathes
• Qualified Fitter and Turner / Tool and Die Maker with advanced CNC programming course completion
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as NX CAM, Edge CAM, MasterCAM, and Mazak CAM
Nice-to-haves:
• Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing principles
• Experience with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite
• Experience in smart manufacturing and digital tooling systems
