About the Project
ACCIONA is delivering major works at Lumsden Point, a landmark infrastructure project shaping the future of the region. We're looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our site team and help embed a strong, proactive safety culture across the project lifecycle.
About the Role
As HSE Advisor, you'll provide hands-on guidance and support on safety practices across the site, working closely with the Construction Manager and project teams to identify hazards, drive compliance, and keep our people safe. This is a site-based role on a 2/1 roster (2 weeks on, 1 week off), offering a strong work-life balance while you contribute to a high-profile build.
Key Accountabilities
- Apply WHS legislation, Duty of Care principles, and good practice to reduce risk across site activities
- Conduct safety tours, gap audits, compliance audits, and documentation reviews
- Carry out risk assessments and identify leading and lagging safety indicators
- Investigate incidents, engage stakeholders, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Support Return to Work and Injury Management processes
- Deliver toolbox talks and training to promote a strong safety culture on site
- Monitor contractor competency and management to ensure work is carried out safely
- Stay alert to modern and emerging risks, including psychosocial hazards
- Prepare clear, timely reports to communicate safety performance and drive improvement
Required Skills and Competencies
- HSE experience in civil construction, with prior experience working on projects in the Northwest of WA
- 3–5 years' operational experience applying safety management principles in construction
- Certificate IV in WHS (minimum)
- Current advanced First Aid certificate
- Experience investigating and reporting safety incidents
- Solid working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures
- Strong communication skills — written and verbal
- High attention to detail and sound problem-solving ability
- Intermediate MS Office skills
