PLEASE READ : Does not Apply for J1 Waiver candidates | MUST be available 2026.Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our established Hospital Medicine team as a Day Hospitalist.
Located in the heart of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Geisinger Community Medical Center is a 293-bed acute care hospital and regional leader in patient-centered care. As a Level II Trauma Center with a strong academic and collaborative environment, GCMC offers hospitalists the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine while enjoying an exceptional work - life balance.
Job Duties:
- Day Hospitalist schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 7-on / 7-off block schedule
- Inpatient-only practice
- Average daily census of 12–14 patients
- Closed ICU environment
- No procedures required, though procedural opportunities are available
- Robust specialty support across all major service lines
- Opportunities to teach residents and medical students
- Collaborative care model with strong multidisciplinary support
- Outreach opportunities available through surrounding Geisinger community hospitals
EMR
- Fully integrated Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system across the Geisinger enterprise, providing seamless access to patient information and coordinated care.

Candidate Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for Pennsylvania medical licensure
