General Summary:

Join Qualcomm Customer Engineering team and work with world leading IOT customers to design, develop and launch exciting new Qualcomm Dragonwing products.

-Understand customer requirements and designs

-Analyze Linux kernel and user space code

-Co-develop custom solutions on Linux/Android

-Debug and resolve system level functional and issues

\- Responsible for customer’s system performance analysis and optimization.

Skills/Experience

\- Experienced in Linux/Android system performance analysis and optimization (kernel and/or system level).

\- Understanding of Linux kernel internals, especially: Scheduler (CFS/RT, task wakeup, CPU affinity, load balancing, latency)

\- Memory management (page cache, reclaim, compaction, CMA/contiguous memory concepts, memory pressure)

\- I/O subsystem (block layer, filesystems basics, I/O scheduling, latency/throughput tradeoffs)

\- Boot performance fundamentals (init sequence, kernel/userspace interactions)

\- Proficient programming skills in C (kernel/userspace) and scripting in Python/Shell for automation.

\- Hands-on experience with performance tools such as perf, ftrace, trace-cmd, eBPF/bpftrace, flame graphs, and standard benchmarking tools.

\- Good problem-solving skills, ability to communicate findings clearly, and ability to work effectively across teams and customer.

Educational Requirements

\- Bachelor or above with a major of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.
